GE Security for Sale

ge_security.jpgAccording to Bloomberg, the GE security division may be purchased by UTC for at least $1.8B.  There has been much speculation over who would be willing and able to acquire GE Security and certainly UTC has been one of the few contenders.

Bosch

Extreme CCTV

Bosch has plans to enhance its security product offering by purchasing Extreme CCTV of Canada. Extreme CCTV has been a pioneer for video surveillance in low-light applications with their infrared technology and also found a strong niche with their license plate cameras. Panasonic

Panasonic has decided to certify resellers through their I-Pro Certified Reseller Program. They will still go through distribution channels, but any reseller must be an I-Pro Certified Reseller in order to purchase any I-Pro products.

On October 17th, 2007, Schneider Electric purchased all shares of Pelco for $1.54 billion.
