Panasonic has decided to certify resellers through their I-Pro Certified Reseller Program. They will still go through distribution channels, but any reseller must be an I-Pro Certified Reseller in order to purchase any I-Pro products.

This in contrast to other manufactures like Axis and Sony which only require an account setup with the distributor. Panasonic is taking a bold step to protect its integrator/reseller base by attempting to limit who can sell their product. The trade-off is that non-certified integrators can simply promote competitor products, so it will be very interesting to see if this strategy will work in the long run. Especially considering how widely available other IP cameras are, we have some doubts that Panasonic will be able to keep up with the increasing demand for IP products.
