Good: The Sony SNC-DF40N is easy to install and offers a sleek design, especially when used with the YT-ICB40 in-ceiling bracket. There is a composite video plug on the dome side for convenient setup of the view.
Bad: At VGA resolution, it is limited to only 15 fps and the image quality leaves a little something to be desired, especially in MPEG-4.
Bottom Line: The Sony SNC-DF40N is a solid camera that is great for installers and earns top marks for aesthetics, but does not provide the best image quality in the category. If picture quality is a concern, the newer SNC-DF50N may be worth considering but at an additional cost.
