On November 13, 2007, Tyco International announced the acquisition of Trident Tek, Inc, a video management solutions developer from Germantown, MD. Trident Tek’s appliance-based NVR platform will be a nice addition to the American Dynamics product line, which includes its long-time flagship Intellex product. American Dynamics’ user-friendly GUI will be integrated into the less sophisticated Trident Tek interface. We see this as a nice find for Tyco because Trident Tek has a great software-based network video recording platform that supplements some of the key weaknesses of the Intellex, and Trident Tek stands to benefit because it seemed to suffer from lack of exposure.
